HALOS
Debut novel, Halos: Somnium, by Keri Lake to be released December 16th, 2011.
Comprised of three novels and a novella, HALOS is a paranormal romance series set in the coastal town of Kittery, Maine.
It began one afternoon while chatting with my youngest sister on the phone. She’d just been transferred to a small town along the East coast for work as an Engineer. Conversation flowed as usual up until she casually mentioned an encounter with a cute military guard on base. Little did I know, the 10 minutes that followed would prove to be a mission in gathering information for my next book.
The dream materialized, and my muse sank its fangs into a fleshy sirloin: the HALOS world began to swirl and take form in my head. A sweet but clumsy MC who so reminded me of my sister and the aloof military guardsman sexy enough to make my pulse rate double. The ideas struck so fiercely, I had moments I could hardly concentrate at work because dialogue was playing out like a movie in my head. The characters were beginning to make themselves known and craving some attention. So I sat down and began to write.
The more I wrote, the more I had to write. I couldn’t type fast enough to keep up with all of the scenes floating around in my head. In spite of the 40 hours that I worked during the week, the children and husband that I yearned to spend time with in the evenings and the little sleep I managed to steal in between, I completed the manuscript for Book 1: Somnium in 4 months.
I’ve begun the second installment of the series and am in the process of developing a short novella that introduces the world of the HALOS.

Keri, this was different than anythin I have ever been interested in picking up to read. What a great surprise, I couldn’t put it down!! Great having it loaded on my Kindle where I could sneak a read quite often.
I had the opportunity of meeting some folks while on vacation in the Dominican Republic. One of these ladies was boasting proudly of knowing of this young writer who was related to her daughter-in-law & here we are a week later & I can’t wait for the next novel!!
